Mancat Monday

While we are still on our honeymoon we got word from home that our Marriage Certificate from Starfleet Command had arrived!

And Opus and Roscoe made us the MOST BEAUTIFUL wedding video, thank you guys SO MUCH!

And Karen Jo and Junior each bought one of Moki's wonderful doodles for us.
Thank you both very much, we really appreciate it!


AND we got our own wedding limerick from Karen Jo:

Karl got married to Ruis.
It was a wedding designed to please.
We wish all joys
To these marvellous boys
And many happy years to Karl and Ruis.

Our sincerest thank goes out to everybody who came to our wedding, we loved having you, you made the big event a big success and we are very grateful for you wonderful friendship!

And now back to the honeymoon, hahahahahahahahahaha.

The Wedding Party!

Now with the official part out of the way the fun can begin! Cats and dogs have freshened up, dried the tears, exchanged the kisses - unfortunately no details were available - and the immediate family and wedding party has changed into some formal wear. Brody and Dicky Duck finally made it too, they thought the wedding was today, hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

And a lot of guests are gathered here, please go over and have a look - some are really dressed up!

Everybody gathers in the holodeck - no need for lengthy preparations on a starship! You just tell the computer which environment you want to have - and voila! Karl and Ruis opted for a classic ballroom with lots of windows and chandeliers - to see the food better!

Karl and Ruis open the party with a classic waltz. Captain Janeway is close to tears, like some others before... And then the official party begins! There are bottles and bottles of Lizquila, and wine, and of course Dom Niptignon. The nip and shrimp shakes for the little ones are in holodeck 2, by the jukebox... we get to this later!

Everybody gathers and even some crew members can not resist the delicious flavors of shrimp salad, salmon, ham, Talaxian Stew and beef that are making their way through the whole ship.

Neelix has set up a jukebox in another holodeck for the more energetic crowd of younger kittens and they are dancing away! And Neelix joins in and does a Jitterbug with Mike!

Then it is time for Karl and Ruis to leave the party. Leave when it is at it's best, right? They will take the Delta Flyer and go on a honeymoon at an undisclosed location. You could say that this location is the best kept secret in the universe right now, Sassy. Seven of Nine gives them both a kiss good bye while Janeway repeats her invitation for them to come back and visit Voyager with less of an entourage.

In the Delta Flyer and out of Voyager they go - where no cat has gone before!

All the guest are looking on to wave good bye - they will undoubtedly keep on partying and undoubtedly provide nice material for Emil....

And sure enough - someone spent some time in the shuttle bay and put all these barrels on the Delta Flyer and painted a big "Just Married" on the hull. Off they go to their well deserved honeymoon!

Karl and Ruis would like to thank everybody who came and visited and gave gifts and posted at the reception blog and helped make this the most wonderful wedding ever! They will be on their honeymoon until June 12 and then Karl and Ruis will spend some time together in the Netherlands, which will be posted about at Ruis' blog!

They will come and visit each and every one of you! It might just not be tomorrow... BEAR WITH THEM! They will come by, and they do appreciate all of you IMMENSELY!

The Wedding!

Captain's Log: Earth date May 30, 2008. The big day finally arrived!
Although it was their first night on a starship, all guests slept well. Only a few emergencies were reported, but the Doctor and Mr. Neelix solved them quickly. Also the holodeck programs of the park, made by Mr. Kim, are visited by all dogs.

After some morning refreshments everybody gets ready for the ceremony. While Ruis still relaxes with his cucumber glasses for that super fresh look, Sassy helps Karl with his special made formal uniform.

Seven of Nine helps Captain Janeway get ready for her part as the one who will officially wed the couple.

And then the walk down the aisle, or better corridor, begins. Momo, being the perfect flower girl, has added some dried lizards to her flower basket.

Korenna, B'Elanna, Mientje, Mrs. OZ, Emil, Socks, Sassy & flowergirl MoMo.

There is a short commotion when Karl gets distracted and goes after the lizards - but Ruis puts him back in line and the whole procession proceeds towards the mess hall, where the wedding will take place.

Mike, Charlie, Buzzer, Asta, Gretchen, Soraya, Momo & the wedding planner again, hahahaha.

The guests and most of the Voyager crew are eagerly awaiting the wedding party.

Charybdis, Adan, Merlin, Dragonheart, Kena, Maya & Lego.

Then the door slides open and Karl & Ruis enter, both in their special made formal uniforms.

The long-anticipated event begins. Janeway, smiling, waits for silence. And then... the Captain's rich alto voice fills the room. "We're gathered here today, not as Starfleet officers, but as friends and family, to celebrate the marriage of two great felines. As Captain, the honor of joining these two cats has fallen to me. But before I declare them husband and husband, Karl and Ruis have prepared their own vows."

The groommaids Miss Peach and Princess, Maxime, Monte & Mitzi.

Karl turns toward Ruis. Ruis turns toward Karl. All eyes turn toward the two as they clasp paws.

Justin, Jonathan, Pixie, Charlotte, Janice, Baby Mao, Daisy & Skeezix.

Karl goes first. His voice is low and brimming with devotion. His amber eyes are moist with affection. His words come slowly, but he will not be hurried. In this moment, the galaxy itself is contained wholly within Ruis's eyes, and he takes in the entirety of it. Time stops...

"Now for you there is no rain
For one is shelter to the other.

Now for you there is no darkness
For one is counsel to the other.

Now for you there is no pain
For one is comfort to the other.

Now for you there is no night
For one is light to the other.

Now for you there is no cold
For one is warmth to the other.

Captain Janeway looks dang-near weepy. "Roscoe," she says softly. "The glasses," she whispers, a little louder. "Oh," he says, chortling, and hands the glasses to Karl, who gently put the purple eyes on Ruis's velvet face. Karl's eyes gleam. "May these glasses be the symbol of our eternal love."

Sukie, Taylor, Pinot, Momo dog, Yoggie and the Best Men Opus & Roscoe.

Ruis looks up, eyes unwavering.

"Opus," Janeway says, who unlike Roscoe doesn't need to be told twice; Ruis takes the glasses and put it onto Karl's head. "May these glasses be a symbol of our eternal love."

Karl and Ruis stare, falling into the ecstatic abyss of each others' eyes. Karl lunges at his groom; his paws clutch his shoulders, and his mouth opens wide enough to swallow him whole.

"Not so fast," Janeway says, holding up a warning hand. Karl and Ruis turn their heads toward the Captain fast enough to blow out three candles. A feral growl escapes someone's lips. Ruis and Karl's eyes are twin bonfires.

Janeway wastes no time. "Karl Danijew of The Cat Realm. Ruis Samyr Pax de Levant. With the power vested in my by Starfleet Command, and the United Federation of Planets, I now pronounce you husband and husband."

Janeway gives both cats her warmest maternal smile. "Now, Karl."

Laughter and applause erupt as the tempest-tossed twosome meet in a lip lock.

Jessica, Scylla, Djenna, Opus, Bubbles & Roscoe.

Then an unknown guest passes off a bouquet to Karl. With an evil grin, he tosses it over his shoulder--to a part of the room where there's only one girlcat with even a fighting shot at it. Not like she needs to fight; it comes right at her. The black paws intercept the floral missile with ease.

Sassy has no idea what just happened. She stares at the bouquet, not sure whether to throw it back or spike it.

"Congratulations," says Gucci, amused. "For what?" Sassy demands. "You may not want to know," Gucci tells her.

Now that the official part is over, the party will begin! Karl and Ruis open the buffet by cutting the wedding cake with a Klingon sword and sharing a piece of cake as a symbol for their first meal as husband and husband.

While the guests start attacking the food the wedding party will change into some formal wear and everybody will gather for the big wedding party at the holodeck.

Not sure how much time he has at the party, Neelix is carrying a tray filled with pocket watches and catnip for all guests.

As a token of our appreciation for all of them to come, please take this gift, a clock to count time and nip to forget it... hahahahaha.

And unfortunately as everybody was so busy with the wedding no one remembered to take away Emil's camera and he has already started posting snapshots from the wedding at his blog...

But Emil also took the official wedding photos. Here are the newlyweds with their best men Opus and Roscoe, their grooms maids Miss Peach and Princess, their flower girl Momo and their wedding planner Sassy.

Wedding Preparations

Captain's Log: Earth date May 29, 2008. Tomorrow is the big day! The happy couple, their best men Opus & Roscoe, their wedding planner, Sassy, and flower girl MoMo, are flying with Starfleet shuttles to Voyager. The whole Voyager crew is busy preparing for the wedding.

Neelix of course is in charge of the food buffet and Commander Tuvok is helping him since the crew found out Tuvok has a flair for food!

And thanks to our wedding planner Sassy we have the most beautiful table settings!

Then Captain Kathryn Janeway is interrupted by a chirp from Seven's badge: "Seven to Janeway. -- Janeway here. Yes, Seven? -- Our first guests are on their way, Captain. Can you come to Astrometrics?" Janeway smiles a little and says, "we are on our way, Seven! Janeway out."

And half the crew follows Janeway to the Astrometric Lab...

A few minutes later they docked and Captain Janeway and Seven of Nine hurry to the shuttle bays to meet their guests. The shuttle bay door hisses open, and Janeway arrives to welcome Karl and Ruis aboard Voyager.

In the other shuttle bay Seven of Nine welcomes Opus & Roscoe and Sassy & MoMo.

At the last moment the respective families of the couple decided to beam to Voyager instead of taking a shuttle. And there also materialized extra bottles of The Cat Realms house wine "Domaine Le Royaume De Chat" from 1996, Lizquila Cuervo Especial and Dom Niptignon.

And also the other guests were beamed on board. At request of their Mom's and Dad's the dogs came separate from the cats, to 'just in case' not mix the species, hahahahahahahahaha.

Then the first load of cats materialized in the transporter room.

And finally the rest of them appear on the platform of Voyager's transporter room.

Captain's Log, Supplemental. Seven of Nine has installed full automatic litterboxes in the guest quarters. Later tonight Tom and Ensign Kim have brought all our guests to their quarters. At 11 PM also the J-Family arrived, Mr. Neelix gave them a light snack before they headed to their quarters. Now, a good night of sleep is all we need for tomorrow!

Kathryn Janeway, Personal Log. For one night I'll stay in a guest quarter and allowed Karl and Ruis in the Captain's quarters. I have asked Q to change it into a honeymoon suite again -- red roses, lit candles surrounding a bed of red satin sheets with two heart-shaped pillows, dimmed lights and the windows unshaded to reveal the stars.

The night is young, and the sheets are satin. We see you tomorrow!!

Only two - 2 ! - more days until the big day. The wedding will start here on May 29 with general preparations and the arrival of the guests. We are expecting 52 cats and dogs on Voyager and hopefully hundreds more at the blog. May 30 will be the BIG wedding post.
